beer and kudzu...
It seems the article I linked to in the previous post has increased the number of Google searches for "kudzu" quite substantially. I've gotten over 300 hits today, about three times more than a normal day, and it's only 2pm in the afternoon. Wow. People must really like kudzu. Or beer... Me, I never developed a taste for it, which considering the price is a good thing. Kool-Aid is much, much cheaper.
Anyway... For those of you who happen to Google or MSN search your way to my humble home, I say welcome. Normally on a Tuesday, I'd have posted a couple of interesting photographs and allowed readers to vote for their favorite (or against their least favorite, as the case may be.) Since I was feeling under the weather last night, I slacked off. Please do come back tomorrow and participate.
In the mean while, please check out the archives for random scatterings of wit, wisdom, frivolity, and photography. If you want, you could browse through the official photo gallery, Autochrome, where you'll find photos of the pervasive and invasive pea vine here and here and a shot of a lovely kudzu bloom here.
Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you again...
two'fer tusday: posponed until wed...
Sorry folks. I've got a sinus infection and was down all day yesterday. I went to bed before 10pm, so I didn't get a chance to post photos.
They'll be up tomorrow instead. To tide you over until then, read this interesting article just sent to me by Steve.
Again, sorry...

we have flowers in our yard now...
We finally have some flowers in our yard. Just a small bed around the mailbox, but it's a start. I've been working the last few weekends on digging up the flower beds around the house and getting them ready. I'm removing about 7 to 10 inches of this nasty red clay soil, and it takes a toll on my poor back. But if I want to compete against the professional landscaper moving in next door, I'd better do it right the first time.

Sometimes you capture more in a photo that you probably should. I just can't wait to get the "what are they doing?" question from Coleman...

citizen of the wind...
Ok, so this shot's not really about the sky, but it does contain sky. I took the the long way to work yesterday morning to find some shots among the pastures behind our neighborhood and saw this lovely bird. Because he was high up in a tree out in the middle of a wide field, It was a prime opportunity to test the reach of the new zoom lens. Of course, if I hadn't been on my way to work, I might have climbed over the fence and tried to get even closer. Maybe wait around until he took flight. That'd have been too cool. The whole thing reminds me of
this story. What? You've not read all the archives? Shame on you. I really should write more. Shame on me.

two'fer tuesday: new lens testing...
{ Light : 17 votes}
{ Vision : 3 votes} [ voting has closed... ]For those wondering about today's title, I purchased a new lens a week or so ago. It's a
Tamron 70-300mm that is capable of also rendering 1:2 macro. It's not the really nice
90mm 1:1 macro I want, but it's much cheaper. I've used it a bit now, but I've still got a lot to learn to get really good shots out of it. Good thing the fun is all in the learning.
